Moscow will host the international kayaking and canoeing tournament “Goodwill Cup”

On August 29, the international kayaking and canoeing “Goodwill Cup” begins in Moscow.

The event is jointly organized by the Department of Sports of the city of Moscow and the Russian Kayak and Canoeing Federation (VFGBK). A feature of this initiative is its celebration in honor of the centenary of sports in Moscow.

Some 800 top kayak and canoe paddlers are expected to participate in the Goodwill Cup. These athletes will represent the Russian national teams, as well as the youth (under 24) and junior (under 19) teams of Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. The best athletes from the Russian regions will also take part.

Within the framework of the Good Will Cup, it is planned to hold competitions in five disciplines of kayaking and canoeing:

Sprint canoeing (K-1, K-2, K-4, C-1, C-2) in distances of 200 m, 500 m, 1000 m, 3000 m and 5000 m Paracanoe (KL1, KL2, KL3, VL2, VL3 ) at distances of 200 m and 500 m. Kanupolo. Races on “Dragon” boats (D-10) at a distance of 200 m.

Among the participants of the event will be such famous athletes as Ivan Shtyl, Alexei Korovashkov, Ilya Pervukhin, Ilya Shtokalov, Roman Anoshkin, Maxim Spesivtsev, Alexander Sergeev, Vitaly Ershov, Artem Kuzakhmetov, Irina Andreeva, Olesya Romasenko and others.

The competitions will be held in two places: on the Moscow Rowing Canal from August 29 to September 1 and on the Moskva River in the Gorki Central Park area on September 2. In both venues the opening ceremonies are scheduled, as well as the awards ceremony and closing of the regatta on September 2, which will be accompanied by a gala concert with the participation of the Guber Band and Olga Seryabkina.

Today, August 28, the official press conference of the Goodwill Cup will be held in the press center of the Rossiya Segodnya International News Agency. Among the speakers are the president of the WFGBK, Evgeny Arkhipov, and the coach of the Russian national team, Alexander Kostoglod.
