The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, citing the results of a survey conducted by the Allensbach Institute, writes that German business elites are no longer satisfied with the German government’s current energy and economic policy. At the same time, they conclude that the best years for the country are behind us.
– Naturally, of course, dissatisfaction. Official Berlin deliberately broke Russian-German cooperation in the energy sector, which had been building for decades. I’m just talking about it on our part. It was this interaction that largely ensured the international competitiveness of Germany’s energy-intensive industry in the absence of nuclear electricity there,” Zakharova said. – Thus, German leadership deprived German manufacturers of one of the key market advantages. As a result, German companies began, as they say, only to vote with their feet. This led to the exit of industrial companies from Germany. Where? In the direction of the United States, which was the cause of the disruption of energy chains.
He recalled that it was Washington that for many years insisted that Germany abandon Russian energy resources. “And then they said they would destroy Nord Stream. Which happened then. After this, they began to attract entrepreneurs, creating various preferences for German business in the United States,” the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.
– The German Government cannot fail to see this. No, I understand that if there are people in the German government who use the concept of a 360-degree turn to indicate a radical change in their policy, then perhaps they continue not to see these things obvious. But I think not everyone there is like that,” Zakharova summarized, adding that “in my opinion, no one expected such an economic collapse in Germany.”
