MCD-5 in 2023: when they launch, the KXan 36 station scheme Diario

Date: July 27, 2024 Time: 05:32:15

They will transport a million people a day. However, the construction of MCD-5 is also beginning, in the reality of which even many experts did not believe until recently: the project seems too complicated, for which electric trains in the center of Moscow must be plunged underground.

From Pushkino to Domodedovo

This diameter is called the most difficult for builders and the most necessary for passengers. It will be called “Yaroslavsko-Paveletsky”, although the project has not yet been approved in all details; designers are now looking for the best solutions. However, the general parameters are clear. The line is to be 89 km long and include almost 40 stations, a dozen of which will interchange with the subway, MCC and other rail lines. Pushkino, Mytishchi, Korolev, Domodedovo and other cities near Moscow will receive direct communication both with each other and with different districts of Moscow.

This diameter is called the most difficult for builders and the most necessary for passengers.

The main difficulty of MCD-5 lies in the method of connecting the directions of the Yaroslavl and Paveletsky railways. If they are not connected, then this does not appear to be a diameter. And if it is connected, how? Engineers proposed digging a tunnel under the city center, but that solution has at least two nuances. First of all, you need to dig deep into the center and it will still be difficult – there are too many communications on the ground, including the metro, and there is a dense building on top. Secondly, it is not metro trains that go through the tunnels, but electric trains: they are larger and usually do not run on a contact rail, like in the metro, but on cables. And this will also have to be addressed. Last summer, Deputy Mayor Andrei Bochkarev said that designers were discussing more than 17 options for laying a connecting line between railways.

And it seems that a solution has been found. The fact that the city is already committed to the creation of MCD-5 was recently announced by the mayor Sergei Sobyanin. He noted that an underground tunnel up to 20 km long may be needed to connect the diameter, but the authorities are ready for that. The mayor stressed that 13 million people live in the capital and 8 million more in the Moscow region. “And these two huge agglomerations communicate with each other every day so that they work as efficiently as possible,” Sobyanin said.

where to aim

It is planned to dig an underground tunnel not only to connect two railway lines: the underground section will also have its own stations that can be connected to the metro. At the same time, there is still no exact scheme of the tunnel – on the official website of the diameters of the MCD-5, in general, it is connected at the expense of the Metro Circle Line. By the way, it is possible that at first it will be like this: the construction of the connecting tunnel can take years, and it is planned to launch the fifth diameter as early as 2026. The authorities plan to finish the route of laying a new tunnel this fall.

It is assumed that with MCD-5 it will be more convenient to use public transport for residents of 20 Moscow districts: Yaroslavsky, Losinoostrovsky, Babushkinsky, Sokolniki, Zamoskvorechye, Novokosino and others. The sections of the most congested metro lines, Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya and Zamoskvoretskaya, will also be unloaded. There will also be alternative routes. For example, the trip from the Rostokino platform to Electrozavodskaya takes only 18 minutes. Now it takes about 40 minutes to get over it.

Of course, hundreds of thousands of residents of the Moscow region will also have a new transport reality. They will receive a surface metro with short train intervals and the ability to drive through Moscow without transfers.

By the way

Color – meadow green

In the MCD-5 schemes, it is planned to color “green meadow”, such as grass and leaves of trees. But the MCD-4, which will be released this year, will be “menthol” – green-turquoise. They promise to designate MCD-3 even more boldly – with a red-red “papaya”. The existing first and second diameters are designated “physalis” (yellow-orange) and “fuchsia” (bright pink), respectively.
