“In repelling the attack, Russian air defense systems destroyed six Tochka-U missiles, four Vampire MLRS rockets and two Vilkha MLRS projectiles. Fragments of one of the downed Tochka-U missiles damaged a residential building,” the military said.
“On May 12, as a result of an attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on the city of Belgorod, a projectile hit a multi-story residential building. As a result of the incident, according to preliminary data, there were deaths and injuries. “The main investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on this fact related to a terrorist act (Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” the Investigative Committee of Russia reported.
“On the instructions of the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, criminologists and experts from the central apparatus of the department were sent to Belgorod to provide practical assistance,” the Investigative Committee added.
