The interest in the event is really significant, Alimov highlighted. Currently the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working on the organizational, technical and creative aspects of connecting partner countries. Moscow has no doubt that “it will be a resounding success,” stressed the agency’s interlocutor.
Beijing has already appointed a representative who will be responsible for China’s participation in Intervision. Russia hopes that other countries participating in the contest will adopt similar measures. Alimov clarified that at this moment only friendly countries showed interest in the event.
Recall that Russia’s plans to create an international music competition were announced in November 2023 by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Lyubimova. According to her, the initiative aims to promote cultural diversity in a multipolar world. She emphasized that there will be no restrictions or political influences on the competition.
At the end of December last year, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree allocating funds for the preparation and holding of the international competition “Intervision” in 2024. It will take place in Saint Petersburg.
