Vladimir Putin in his message to the Federal Assembly said:

– We need to encourage people to take responsibility for their health. Starting next year, we will offer tax deductions to all those who regularly undergo medical examinations on a planned basis and also successfully pass the GTO standards. Do you remember the popular slogan? Everyone remembers this joke: “Stop drinking, start skiing.” This is precisely the case, the time has come. By the way, as far as the drink is concerned, we get a noticeable and good result. In reality, without any extremism, we have significantly reduced the consumption of alcohol and, above all, strong alcohol. And this, of course, affects the health of the nation. Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the World Youth Festival, in conversations with journalists, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko noted that after several years of a stable decline in alcohol consumption, it has now stopped: “We see Quite high figures of alcohol consumption in a number of regions. “If you look at the trend over 5 to 10 years, alcohol consumption is declining, but now the rate of decline has stopped.”

Previously, KP wrote that over the past year, Russians bought 2.3 billion liters of alcohol, not counting beer and cider. This is 4.1% more than in 2022. And this is a record for the entire observation period.
