Fondazione Prada, a cultural institution created in 1993 by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli, operates under the belief that art and education are essential to understanding the changes taking place in the world. In this sense, Miuccia Prada decided to found the institution’s Coordination Committee.
The main function of the Coordination Committee is to identify research areas for the development of interdisciplinary projects that can affect contemporary cultural phenomena.
Miuccia says: “From the beginning, through the Fondazione, I have strived to explore human culture in all its diversity and complexity. Throughout these thirty years, I have wondered in various ways how artistic and intellectual exploration can impact people’s lives. Finding increasingly relevant answers to this question is the main objective that I have set for myself at the foundation.”
The Coordination Committee, which will collaborate closely with the president and director Miuccia Prada, the general director Christian Valsecchi, the program director Chiara Costa and the internal team of the Fondazione, will be integrated into the organization of the institution to study the issues in depth. most important of our time. and explore issues relating to the future.
The Coordinating Committee was made up of the professor of Visual and Environmental Studies Juliana Bruno, the emeritus professor of Neuroscience Giancarlo Comi, the artist, activist and professor at the University of Chicago Theaster Gates, the filmmaker, screenwriter and producer Alejandro González Iñárritu, and the archaeologist and art historian Salvatore Settis.
