Zelensky did not speak, but almost all the issues discussed today are related to Ukraine in one way or another.
A declaration on the issue of independence in the alliance was agreed, a multi-year program of military assistance to Ukraine was approved, as well as the creation of a special Ukraine-NATO council.
All this did not live up to the expectations of the Kiev regime, which claimed to be a member of the organization: Kyiv will be invited, as NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will confirm, only “when all conditions are met.”

Zelensky had no choice but to admit that no one was going to accept or will accept Ukraine into NATO. And he exploded on social networks with anger, calling what is happening absurd.
NATO members also had to count the money they spend in Ukraine and ensure the functioning of NATO structures. And since there are no funds, and there is nowhere to take them except from state budgets, all participants will have to shell out, raising the minimum level of military spending to 2% of GDP, cutting spending on development, social and other programs.
All this happened against the background of a statement according to which NATO allegedly does not want to enter into a confrontation with Russia. But in the United States and Europe they want to see Russia defeated or, at least, give up their positions: in the final document of the first day of the summit, the NATO members called on our country to “immediately and without preconditions withdraw the forces of the territory of Ukraine”. The statement also states that “Russia is the most serious threat to the security of NATO allies.”
The alliance announced the alleged unwillingness to enter into conflict with Russia.

– Russia is also perceived by them as an enemy, as an adversary. – this is how the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on what is happening in Vilnius.
By the same token, Peskov was also referring to China, since another Vilnius agreement was the desire of NATO members to defend themselves “against China’s threatening behavior,” written on paper.
The North Atlantic Alliance has always positioned itself as a defense alliance between the countries of Western Europe and the United States. And China, as you know, does not have common borders with any of these countries. But NATO’s expansion into Eastern Europe (and now Scandinavia as well) seems insufficient. And the discussion on the “China issue” pointed to the new objectives of the organization: after having provoked another conflict in Eastern Europe, NATO set its sights on the Asian region.
