A loan moratorium is a period of temporary suspension of loan payments or a reduction in loan size without penalties or credit consequences. So far, this measure is valid for a number of categories (people in a difficult financial situation, mobilized) temporarily, but the State Duma plans to introduce the right of citizens to credit vacation on an ongoing basis. The bill was submitted to the State Duma in September 2022 and passed the first reading.
