The publication’s journalists recalled that Oliver wrote three days before the tragedy: “Greetings from somewhere in heaven! Here we are.”
Recall that a private small plane was heading to Saint Lucia, but did not reach its destination: it fell almost vertically into the water near the island of Petite Nevis. The moment of the disaster was captured on video by one of the witnesses.
According to police, local fishermen and divers arrived at the accident site first, followed by coast guard personnel. The investigation is ongoing.
There were four people on board the plane: Oliver, 51, his daughters (aged 10 and 12) and the pilot. All died.
