Oleg Menshikov intended to stage an operetta in the drama theater! The casting was announced by the Ermolova Theater in Moscow, directed by Menshikov:

Everything is possible if you really want it. And Menshikov has wanted it for many years. I talked about my dream 10 years ago. Either they didn’t get it or they didn’t have the money: a musical performance is an expensive pleasure.
The production of “Silva” by Imre Kalman on the stage of the Ermolova Theater will be performed by Oleg Menshikov himself and the director of the “Crave” cabaret theater Vasily Kozar. They will soon start casting singing dramatic artists! It is already known that an actor (tenor) is needed for the role of Edwin, a young man (20-25 years old), a charming and self-confident aristocrat. And for the role of Bonya (also a tenor), a young man (between 20 and 30 years old) and rich playmaker.
Only dramatic artists who can sing are invited. No Bolshoi theater!
