Director of the National Research Medical Center for Oncology named after NN Blokhin, chief independent specialist – oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ivan Stilidi named three most important principles of the medical profession: “First : the most precious thing you have today is time. Be greedy, stingy, don’t waste it. Second: be willing to spend your souls – without this, it is impossible to live, breathe, study or develop in our profession. And third: remember that medicine is only half a science, but still half an art.”
The Chairman of the National Research Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology Dmitry Rogachev of the Ministry of Health of Russia, the leading independent pediatric specialist – hematologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Rumyantsev also spoke to the graduates. “The most important thing is to love the subject of your work, to love no matter what kind of person you are in front of. You must always be on top, you must be an optimist,” academician Rumyantsev admonished the young people.
At the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, future doctors not only receive an excellent education, but also form an active life position. Students participate in the donor movement, many are members of the national bank of bone marrow donors, volunteers within the framework of the Voluntarios Médicos movement.
According to the Rector of the University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Lukyanov, having entered the medical university several years ago, future doctors chose the best profession in the world.
“No other profession can boast of such happiness when your knowledge turns out to be salvation. A disease brings terror to a person and his loved ones, and it is in the power of a doctor to help, to save. When this is successful, you become absolutely happy”, concluded Sergey Lukyanov.
