The third season of White Lotus has been suspended due to a strike by the Writers Guild of America. Actor Tom Hollander spoke about this on The News Agents podcast.
Series creator Mike White has put the project on hold because he doesn’t want to get kicked out of the Guild. The third season of the show will take place in Thailand. Actress Jennifer Coolidge expressed hope that her character’s husband, Tanya, would die in the series’ sequel.
In the season 2 finale, the heroine opens fire aboard a yacht at a group hired by her husband Greg to kill her. After the massacre, Tanya accidentally falls overboard to her death.
Recall that the Writers Guild of America’s first strike in fifteen years began on May 2 over a broken deal with Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, NBCUniversal, Paramount and Sony. The writers have ceased any writing assignment. However, they can still produce and direct at the same time.
Earlier it became known that HBO could remove the prequel to “White Lotus” about the heroine Jennifer Coolidge. The production of the third season of the series about the hotel for very rich guests is currently taking place in Thailand. We talk about it in more detail here.
