Prada, Spring-Summer 2025 collection

Date: September 20, 2024 Time: 03:21:05

In the spring/summer collection, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons continued the theme set (however, there is nothing new here) by the men’s show and combined the real world with the virtual catwalk one by one (and in such a way that it is not always clear where and which), and then the real, the past and the future.

The show took place as is traditional at the Fondazione Prada with a remix of songs by Suicide, Mojito and Leige, and again in rave format. The first look was a mini dress with a floral print that seemed to have been put on in a hurry. Next, the cutest mini coats with a fur trim on the collar (sometimes printed, but eerily similar to the real thing, which was also noticeable); leather dresses with metallic details all over; tights (they became full participants in the collection and looked like leggings), which were worn in combination with a knitted polo shirt and a belt. The latter, by the way, like the furs, either existed or not: the trompe l’oeil effect was again central to the work of the collection.

One-piece swimsuits are paired here with a classic coat, and jumpers (also with a mock collar) are paired with a silver eyelet midi skirt. By the way, Miuccia and Raf have been falling in love with it lately, also on dresses and hats. For accessories, I liked the exaggerated Cleo and alien glasses, and for shoes, I liked the new versions of origami shoes. Well, we couldn’t ignore the models that came back to us from the 2010s: Prada paid homage to several iconic pairs at once. We’re talking about the “Mary Jane” on the platform (referring to the autumn-winter 2012 collection) and the Microsole derby (as from Prada’s spring-summer 2011 collection).
