Primark, the low-cost clothing and accessories sales company, opens a new store in Spain this Thursday, February 22. This new store is located in the La Vaguada shopping center (Madrid) and will open its doors at 10 p.m. The location will employ more than 200 workers, it is the Irish company’s 61st store in Spain, the 440th in the world and the second largest in Spain after the Gran Vía location.
The new store covers more than 5,750 square meters of commercial space distributed over two floors and has, as a novelty for the company in Spain, 23 self-payment checkouts, in addition to the traditional checkout checkouts. The La Vaguada shopping center, which is easily reached by metro (line 7 -Herrera Oria- or line 9 -Barrio del Pilar-) is located north of the city of Madrid.
Primark is expected to continue its expansion throughout Spain. In the coming months the textile chain will open another store in the Community of Madrid, specifically in Alcalá de Henares. The Alcalá Magna shopping center will be the place where the doors of this store will open, for which important works have been carried out to adapt the space. The hiring of personnel for this store has already begun, so it is expected that the official opening date will be announced soon.

The general director of Primark for Spain and Portugal, Carlos Inácio, has indicated that they are “excited” about the opening of the textile chain’s ninth store in the Community of Madrid. For his part, the director of the La Vaguada shopping center, Javier Escusol, has highlighted that the renovation in which they are “immersed, together with the arrival of other relevant operators, has already led to a significant increase in footfall during last Christmas “.
