The Medieval Train of Renfe, the Spanish train operator, will resume operations starting April 13 between Madrid and Sigüenza (Guadalajara), presenting the stories and legends of the area.
This initiative is created through an agreement signed between Renfe and the Seguntino city council to create a tourist trip that will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Madrid-Chamartín Clara Campoamor station and, after stopping in Alcalá de Henares and Guadalajara, arrive at 11:37 a.m. to the Sigüenza station. The return to Madrid will be scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
What does the trip include?
At the beginning of the journey, travelers will be welcomed by a procession of period-dressed characters who will brighten the journey with stories, music and dance and invite customers to try typical second-hand products along the way.
In addition, the Medieval Train ticket includes visits with professional guides to the most emblematic places and monuments of the city, as well as the Plaza Mayor, romantic churches, the Casa del Doncel, the Patio de Armas of the Castle or the medieval city.
Some restaurants also join the initiative, guaranteeing that customers will also receive a 10% discount in restaurants participating in the program by presenting the Medieval Train ticket.
How much does the Medieval Train cost?
The Medieval Train, which Renfe operates through conventional Media Distancia services, will circulate this year on April 13 and 25, May 26, September 21, October 10 and November 14. The price of the ticket is 45 euros for adults and 20 euros for children under 14 years of age. Children under 4 years old who do not occupy a seat travel for free.
In addition, to purchase a trip on the Medieval Train, clients will participate in a raffle for one night for two people in a hotel establishment in Sigüenza including train tickets, a hiking route for two people accompanied by a professional guide, artisan boots . of wine and a batch of food products.
