Renfe has sold 1.5 million tickets with discounts for people between 18 and 30 years of age during the first two months since the entry into force, on June 15, of the Youth Summer initiative, as reported by the company this Saturday in a statement .
Of the total number of young people who have benefited from this measure and have traveled by train, 87% have used Renfe services and 13% of other railway operators. Also, since June 15, Renfe has registered 15,500 interrail passes to travel around Europe.
With respect to its Más Renfe loyalty program, the company has doubled registrations, reaching 3,000 daily media adherences during the first two months of the program. It should be remembered that in addition to the reductions approved by the Government on September 15.
The Summer Youth program offers young people between the ages of 18 and 30, both inclusive, 50% discounts on AVE, Avlo, Alvia, Intercity and Euromed train tickets, with a maximum discount of 30 euros per ticket. The discounts are also 50% for single Avant tickets and 90% for the rest of Media Distancia services or the Ancho Métrico network and for state bus tickets.
Since the initiative was launched, more than 915,000 young people between the ages of 18 and 30 have made 2.6 million journeys by train and bus with discount tickets, of which 58% took place by rail and the rest by road, according to data from the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
