In future calls, other areas and other value chains may be promoted, the Ministry reported.
These aid are part of the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of Renewable Energy, Hydrogen and Storage (Perte ERHA) – they are part of a package of 1,000 million euros aimed at promoting the value chain – and are aimed at reinforcing Spanish strategic industrial autonomy, national energy security and the decarbonization process, in line with the policies defined by the EU.
The Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), dependent on the Ministry, will manage these aid, which will be granted on a competitive basis. The validity of the regulatory bases approved by this order of bases will extend from its entry into force until December 31, 2025. Specifically, in the evaluation of the proposals, different criteria will be taken into account to select the most viable projects with the greatest positive impacts, seeking efficiency in the use of public funds; strategic criteria that prioritize projects that provide a greater response to existing vulnerabilities in the value chain; social criteria such as the generation of employment and activity in the territory, as well as environmental criteria seeking to minimize the carbon footprint and maximize the use of renewable energy in production centers.
Objectives of the first call
In line with the temporary framework of State aid authorized by the European Commission, in the first call for value chain projects focused on promoting innovation and knowledge in lines of action such as electrical storage (Manufacturing of batteries and their components) will be subsidized. essential), photovoltaic solar energy (the manufacture of solar panels and their essential components).
