“Today the plenary week of the Financial Action Task Force to combat money laundering ended. According to the results of the examination of agenda items, Russia’s status in the organization remained unchanged.” – the department said in a statement.
Rosfinmonitoring recalled that a politicized decision was made a year ago to suspend the Russian Federation’s membership in the FATF. It should be noted that this decision also does not entail any obligations or restrictions for financial institutions in Russia and abroad. Russia, in turn, remains committed to compliance with international standards on combating money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, including risk assessment and mitigation.
