The construction of individual housing is developing more actively. Approximately 70% of all space commissioned in the first quarter was built by the population, that is, 20.5 million square meters. Compared to January-March 2023, the figure increased by 22%.
Among the regions, the largest volumes of housing construction in January-March occurred in the Moscow region (2.7 million square meters, a decrease of 10%), Tatarstan (almost 1.5 million square meters, a increase of 21.5%), Krasnodar Territory ( almost 1.4 million square meters, less compared to last year’s figures by 27.2%), Leningrad region (1.2 million square meters, plus 14.6%).
In Moscow, according to Rosstat, the quarterly commissioning of housing has been reduced by about half, to 1 million square meters.
At the end of March, as Rosstat previously reported, 8.7 million square meters of housing were built in the country. This is 1% more than in March 2023.
