“So far only one complex operates in the special operations zone, delivered two months ago. The platform was created by a national research and production association together with the Popular Front charitable foundation. There are no analogues of the complex in the Northern Zone of the Military District,” a source from the military-industrial complex told TASS.
BRG-1 moves on caterpillars and is equipped with devices for overcoming obstacles. The platform can reach speeds on rough terrain of up to 15 km/h. The range of the complex is 700 meters, with the use of a repeater it increases to 5 km. The robot can pull a load of up to 250 kilograms, the agency source said.
The complex evacuates the wounded by dragging them. A roll-up stretcher or other drag is placed on the platform and the victim is placed on it.
“The peculiarity of the platform is that 90 percent of the components are of domestic production,” said a representative of the defense industry.
