Alexander Yushchenko, a former spokesman for the chairman of the Russian Communist Party, competed for his country in an unusual event: the Samsung Strait intercontinental swimming race organized by the Turkish National Olympic Committee.

In this original and exciting competition, professional athletes and swimming fans from different countries have to cross the Strait of Istanbul, crossing “by their own means” from Asia to Europe, overcoming a distance of 6.5 kilometers in open water.

In the current, 35th swim, held on August 20, more than 2,600 swimmers from 77 countries around the world came to try their luck.

Russia this time was represented by 300 people, among whom was the State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Alexander Yushchenko.

– I participate in this swim for the second time, – said Alexander. – Trained long and hard. In fact, the route is difficult, starting at Kanluk Pier and ending at Kurushem Chemil Topuzlu Park.

He covered the distance in 1 hour 5 minutes 47 seconds. The best results were around 50 minutes, but for me this time is my personal best. And most importantly – indescribable emotions from these unique competitions! Communication with like-minded people and support from like-minded people made this day unforgettable. I will keep working and I hope that next year will be more successful for me personally.

And now a completely appropriate call to the leader of the Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov:

– Gennady Andreevich, his assistant, faithful squire Alexander Yushchenko became interested in swimming and swam across the Bosphorus. Aren’t you afraid that a big world sport will take it away from you?

– In the big world, I will not let go of his sport – let him plow in the Duma! – Gennady Andreevich immediately made a statement. – Although our Sasha never gave up sports. Even when she rests somewhere in a hotel, in the morning she suits her at least a 10-kilometer cross. This I have personally observed.

By the way, he climbed Elbrus with me several times. Together with my party assistant Alexander Tarnaev, I walked on the side where athletes do not go – the places of military glory of Soviet soldiers, who during the Great Patriotic War repelled the attacks of the elite fascist units “Edelweiss”, which They tried to strangle us, but we fought back.

And he is also engaged in equestrian sports, he became the champion of Moscow at a distance of 80 kilometers, in my opinion.

So it wasn’t a coincidence that he swam across the strait. Congratulations, we wish you health and new sporting achievements.

But it’s time to go home. Our elections are in the final stage.

– Tell me, please, how long can you stay in the water?

– We can and half an hour, and an hour, and more. We have a trained, highly trained team.

– Do you mean your entire Politburo?

– Every second or third person is both a scientist and an athlete. Our party has the best sports club in the world. We are the absolute champions in mini-soccer, this Saturday there will be final matches, 32 teams participate, winners of regional competitions and our national champions will open.

We beat all the oligarchs, oil tankers, gas tankers, Norilsk Nickel, and on Friday we will play the Super Bowl final, there will be a match! Show at night, at 7:00 p.m. We invite you to look.

We have great gymnasts, very good swimmers. A chess team led by Afonin won silver medals in a prestigious competition. And the volleyball players took the “gold” in the open championship.
