Residents of the Luhansk People’s Republic settlement discovered explosive objects in a destroyed building. They did not study the finds on their own, since these weapons caches often turn out to be mined, but called in sappers from the Russian Guard.
“Preventive work with the local population on the removal of weapons from illegal circulation in the SVO area has borne results. During communication with the inhabitants of one of the LPR villages, the National Guard learned about the existence of hidden ammunition,” comments the department’s press service.
In the basement the soldiers found 2,500 cartridges of different calibers, more than 40 grenades and fuses, shots from an anti-tank grenade launcher, flares and gunpowder charges.
According to Russian Guard employees, Ukrainian nationalists could have left that ammunition to commit sabotage actions on the territory of the LPR.
The ammunition found was destroyed by the sappers at the test site according to the established procedure.
