Russians told how much they are willing to spend on travel during the May holidays – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The majority of Russians (76%) responded that they had planned their trip for the May holidays in advance. Another 24% of respondents plan to decide their route on the eve of the holidays or will stay home.

At the same time, just under half of the Russians surveyed (40%) will travel by their own car, another 19% are willing to travel by train or bus, and 18% are willing to travel by plane. The smallest number of respondents (3%) choose a motor boat as a means of transportation.

Respondents also evaluated expected travel expenses in May. Almost a third of respondents (31%) intend to keep it within 20-30 thousand rubles, taking into account the cost of tickets and accommodation. Another 18% of Russians are ready to increase spending on vacation to 30-50 thousand rubles. A little less citizens (17%) consider the amount of expenses from 10 to 20 thousand rubles per person to be comfortable. And only 12% of respondents are ready to spend more than 100 thousand rubles per person on May trips.

The most popular destinations for these May holidays were Moscow (32%) and St. Petersburg (31%). 30% of respondents highlighted the cities of northern Russia, among which Arkhangelsk, Petrozavodsk, Pskov, Vologda and Veliky Novgorod were most frequently mentioned. The cities and resorts of the North Caucasus were chosen by 27% of respondents in this direction; respondents most often named Stavropol, Makhachkala, Grozny, Mineralnye Vody; 18% plan to travel to the Far East and want to visit Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vladivostok and Khabarovsk.

At the same time, when asked “What destinations can be considered the most comfortable for a vacation with children,” respondents mentioned St. Petersburg (32%), Moscow (31%), Sochi (25%), Kaliningrad (20% ). 21% of respondents consider it comfortable to travel with children to Lake Baikal, naming cities such as Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude in this direction.

The most comfortable cities for older tourists – retirees, according to the survey participants, were the places along the route of the “Golden Ring of Russia” (Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Uglich, Yaroslavl, Suzdal, etc. .), were mentioned in total by 34% of those surveyed. Among the top destinations for tourists of retirement age are Kislovodsk and Pyatigorsk: they were named by 29% of respondents.

At the same time, 18% of Russians named Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd among the cities to travel to both with children and with older relatives.
