The Socialists close a preliminary agreement with Junts just over an hour before the vote by the Congress Table will take place, as Jordi Turull has transferred to his ranks this morning. The seven deputies, headed by Míriam Nogueras, are key to decanting the majority in favor of the socialist candidate, the former president of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol. The PSOE thus manages to close the necessary support for the control of the Table, after the Catalans marked distances this Wednesday claiming “verifiable facts.” The talks would have lasted until dawn, according to what the acting second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, has expressed in an interview on ‘Cadena Ser’ that she has participated in the parallel negotiation promoted by Sumar.
The session will begin at 10:00 a.m. this Thursday, however, the other pro-independence partners led by Gabriel Rufián have called a press conference minutes after going to the chamber to report on the progress of the negotiations.
