That haute couture is surreal in nature was demonstrated by Daniel Roseberry with an all-out haute couture show. At the same time, reminding everyone who was at the show (and you and me) that everything they saw was the work of specific people. “I wanted this season to be more free, spontaneous, picturesque. The idea is to try to really focus on the collection and go deeper into the techniques that we wanted to show.”
That’s why Roseberry didn’t surprise audiences with animal heads (albeit cleverly created): the long relationship between Skiap and the artists became her source of inspiration. So the blue Yves Klein appeared in the collection (the bodies of some models were also painted with the appropriate paint) – an impression in the form of brushstrokes – a fiery salute to the multicolored study of Lucian Freud and palm leaves. Roseberry found the last ones, probably in the photographs, also from the studio, but already Matisse and in Nice. Iconic home accessories were not ignored by Daniel: bracelets (or bags) of all stripes, composite earrings, multi-tiered necklaces that looked like African national jewels were in the lens.
