Nika Zhukova and her mother Regina flew to the Rosa Khutor complex, where the New Season online film festival is being held. Today, September 11, 14-year-old Nika, together with the film crew, will present the series Cry-Baby, where she played the main role of a schoolgirl named Masha. The showrunner and one of the producers of the project is Sergei Zhukov. In the story, together with her family, Masha moves from Moscow to the province, where they begin to poison her at a local school. The premiere of the series, also starring Vanya Dmitrienko, Agata Muceniece, Irina Rozanova and Roman Mayakin, is scheduled for September 28 (exclusively on the Wink online platform). The project will also premiere on the STS channel in 2024. Especially for KP.RU, new actress Nika Zhukova answered some questions.

– Nika, what is the series about? And why “Llorón”?

– In the series, the heroine goes through many tests and each failure is accompanied by tears. That’s why the name is like that. “Crybaby” is the word we can best use to describe our series. Additionally, my song “Crybaby” became the soundtrack for the project.

– Is your role in this project your acting debut?

– We can say that this is my first major acting debut. Before this there were small jobs. But here, diving headlong into the actress’s work is the first experience of its kind.

-Did you study to be an actress somewhere?

– Yes, I studied in acting schools. In addition, I have behind me four years of service in the Children’s Musical Theater of the Young Actor.

– What was the most difficult thing during filming?

“The most difficult thing was overcoming my fear. It was extremely scary, because all the guys I played with are very professional and experienced. And for me, of course, it is a great honor to film with them. It was hard to get over myself and finally relax and go with the “flow” of the work.

– Tell me, how did you work with Vanya Dmitrienko?

– Very comfortable. From the beginning of the casting, Vanya and I talked and I told her how worried she was. He supported me a lot then and later we worked together. To be honest, I thought that Vanya was completely different in life, but he turned out to be very smart and talented. Not only did we work well together, but we also became friends.

-Have you experienced bullying at school?

– I have encountered harassment in real life more than once. I studied in a private school and the boys did not accept me for a long time, they threw offensive words at me about my dad. And as soon as I achieved something good, they immediately yelled at me that it was just because of him and that I myself couldn’t do anything. It was very disappointing, but over time I began to understand that one should be proud of dad and not be ashamed of such situations.
