Serveo reorganizes its leadership with Mataix as president and Urquía as new CEO

Date: September 8, 2024 Time: 06:33:09

The Serveo services group, owned by the Portobello fund and Ferrovial, has reorganized its management team after completing the purchase of Sacyr Facilities and has appointed Ignacio Mataix, former CEO of Indra, as the new executive president of the board of directors and Salvador Urquí a new CEO. Mataix will join as president, replacing Íñigo Sánchez-Asiaín, co-founder of Portobello, as announced by the company this Friday.

Ignacio Mataix has served as CEO of Indra for the last 5 years, from which he left by agreement in March of this year with more than 4.6 million in compensation. He graduated in Law and Economics and Business Sciences, began his career at ABN AMRO, eventually becoming general director of the Bank in Spain and has subsequently held positions of responsibility in companies such as Sener, ITP or Talgo.

Serveo has appointed Salvador Urquía as the new CEO of the group, in which he held the position of business director. Urquía thus replaces Juan Ignacio Beltrán, who has directed this activity, previously at Ferrovial Servicios and later at Serveo from its consolidation as a company to the most recent stages of growth.

The new CEO of Serveo is an industrial engineer and has more than 30 years of experience, in which he has held positions of responsibility such as the general management of Eurolimp or the operations management for America at Swissport.

Execution plan

With these new changes, Serveo advances in the execution of its strategic plan, which contemplates its consolidation as a company with greater presence and profitability for its shareholders and more attractive for the market and its professionals.

Serveo, 75.01% owned by the Portobello fund and 24.99% owned by Ferrovial, closed this Friday the purchase of its subsidiary Sacyr Instalaciones from Sacyr for 90 million euros.

The group, which has also shown interest in the services business that OHLA has for sale, operates in the health, public administration, infrastructure or industry sectors and has more than 27,000 employees.
