Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited Tatarstan on a business trip. He visited various enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex, on which our security largely depends.

First, the minister stopped at the Kazan Aviation Plant named after him. S. Gorbunov, where Tu-160 strategic missile carriers are assembled and repaired.

The minister was informed at the plant that already this year the army will receive two new and modernized Tu-160 strategic missile carriers, two more will be in operation.

The company is also equipping Tu-22M3 long-range bombers for new precision munitions. The Tu-22M3 is the same workhorse that is capable of delivering 24 tons of cruise missiles or high-explosive bombs to the specified direction in one flight.

In the capital of Tatarstan, Sergei Shoigu and the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Kazan Helicopter Plant, where they were briefed on the production of Ansat light helicopters and various modifications of the Mi-8 military transport helicopter.

From there, the minister went to the JSC Kazan Optical and Mechanical Plant, where observation optics are assembled: night vision devices, multifunctional laser rangefinders, and thermal imaging devices. Without these devices, our snipers, scouts, gunners, and pilots will feel blind.

The head of the military department was shown a modernized Mi-24 helicopter with an increased range of detection and identification of targets, increased accuracy characteristics of the use of weapons. The helicopter became “farsighted” and at the same time invulnerable to enemy air defense thanks to modern optics.

Shoigu and Minnikhanov visited Remdiesel JSC, where major repairs, modernization, installation and installation of weapons and military equipment are underway, as well as the KAMAZ Automobile Plant, which produces world-famous trucks. At the Remdiesel, Shoigu inspected KAMAZ trucks with an armored cab, a Lens special medical vehicle, as well as a line for the modernization of MTLB multi-purpose armored personnel carriers.

“We analyze the production. I would like to thank KAMAZ and those who work here at Naberezhnye Chelny – they work quite efficiently and energetically. Now everything is going according to plan, a little ahead of schedule. If there is an opportunity, we must increase the pace, ”the Remdiesel team asked Shoigu.

At the meeting, Sergei Shoigu instructed the main armor directorate of the RF Defense Ministry to consider the question of forming a working group with KAMAZ to help keep vehicles in the NVO zone. The minister also demonstrated the interest of the Ministry of Defense in modernizing the fleet of MTLB armored personnel carriers.

As you know, they can carry almost any weapon on their armor.

“We need to make a more modern car. Now we are engaged in the fact that we are actively restoring the old park dating from Soviet times, we are doing it efficiently and quickly,” the minister said.
