Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu visited the command post of the Western Group of Forces, where he heard the report of Commander Colonel General Yevgeny Nikiforov on the operational situation in this direction in the zone of special military operations.
Nikiforov reported to the minister about the high efficiency of interaction between the group’s assault detachments and the reconnaissance, attack and fire complexes received by the troops during the breakthrough of enemy defenses.
The head of the military institution paid special attention to the commanders to the organization of the continuous supply of weapons, military equipment, ammunition and all material resources necessary for the successful fulfillment of combat missions.
He also focused the attention of commanders and leaders on conducting more active reconnaissance in the entire depth of the enemy defense and acting proactively, and set the task of additionally allocating reconnaissance and attack resources to the group’s units.
Following the results of the work at the checkpoints of the groupings of forces, the Minister held a meeting at the headquarters of the Joint Group of Forces, where he heard reports from the commanders on the current situation in the area of the Military Region of the North.
“The head of the military department reported on the target control materials of destruction in the last 24 hours as a result of the effective operation of reconnaissance and attack systems – the American-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system in the zone of the village of Belaya Krinitsa and the position of the division of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system in the direction of Kherson, the ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the direction of Krasno-Limansk, as well as the US “M777 artillery system manufactured in the Chasov Yar settlement area of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” commented Russian Defense Ministry personnel.
During the working trip, Sergei Shoigu also checked the functioning of the headquarters of the group of troops covering the Russian state border.
