The event opened with a guided tour of the company’s Novosibirsk division. Accompanied by the heads of Siberian Concrete LLC, General Director Alexander Mezentsev and Director for the Novosibirsk Region Alexander Gorny, the media representatives visited the main production plants and the construction laboratory, observed the operation of the equipment, They got acquainted with the production technology and the complete quality control system.
The journalists also learned about the activities of unscrupulous manufacturers in the Novosibirsk region. The company “Siberian Concrete” contributes to counteract the proliferation of construction materials of unknown quality on the regional market. “For several years we have been continuously monitoring the points of production and sale of concrete mixes, we started trial purchases,” said Alexander Gorny. “From each lot purchased, a pair of identical FBS (continuous foundation blocks) are manufactured for visual assessment of volume and detection of underweight goods.”
To ensure the objectivity of the verification, each purchase is accompanied by an expert from the Union “Novosibirsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry”. He controls the entire process, from loading the purchased mix onto the mixer truck to sampling by an independent laboratory representative. After that, the samples are tested for strength, frost resistance and water resistance.
“In 2023, we started four test purchases of concrete mixes at outlets with an allegedly low production culture. According to the conclusions of an independent examination, two out of four batches of samples do not correspond to the declared degree of mobility. Three batches of products “passed” in terms of resistance. The same number of samples did not pass tests for frost resistance. Not a single batch of mixtures corresponds to the declared water resistance mark. The volume of all deliveries actually turned out to be less than the declared one, – Alexander Mezentsev reported on the results of the control: – According to our estimates, the number of unscrupulous manufacturers has practically not changed since last year, as has the volume of counterfeits on the concrete market of the Siberian Federal District – about 20% in the Novosibirsk region – at least 15%.
