According to preliminary information, the teenagers aged 15 and 17, as well as four of their adult friends, felt unwell after a steam bath with a pool and sought medical help. Doctors detected signs of chlorine poisoning, according to the Krasnoyarsk Territory prosecutor’s office.
The department clarified that the minors tried to hide the fact of visiting the sauna from their parents, claiming that they were poisoned while cleaning the house with specific cleaning products.
Employees of the prosecutor’s office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Rospotrebnadzor discovered the circumstances of the incident; Analysis of air samples taken in the sauna showed a higher chlorine content. The inspection materials were handed over to investigators to initiate a criminal case for the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.
