Soltour and Guest Incoming will use an allegation of the provisional result of the award of the tender for Imserso trips for the 2023-2024 season, in which the Barceló travel agency network, Ávoris, has obtained the best bases, leaving out game to the rest of the competitors, Soltour and Mundiplan. Soltour competed in alliance with Guest Incoming, specifically for the bidding for the lot on the peninsular coasts (one of the three that came out) and this Friday both companies have indicated that their proposal should have been the winner of that lot, if they are duly taken into account two of the quality criteria of the competition, with whose evaluation they disagree.
“With the conviction that our proposal is the best”
For this reason, they are going to present an allegation as a matter of urgency so that their proposal is reconsidered before the final award is made, although they totally rule out filing an appeal, since that would suspend or delay the implementation of the Imserso travel program. The CEO of Soltour Travel Partners, Tomeu Bennasar, has said that they will argue “with the conviction that our proposal is the best”, since, as he explained, maximizing the quality of the program would mean savings of euros in the period 2023- 2024, that is, 1.3 million euros per year.
For his part, the CEO of Guest Incoming, Omar Spezie, has indicated that this saving to contribute would not affect the income of the hotels. The Barceló travel agency network, Ávoris, obtained the best odds in the provisional award in the three batches of the tender for Imserso trips for the 2023-2024 season.
The score obtained by Ávoris in the three lots (peninsular coasts, islands and circuits and provincial capitals) leaves out of the game, for the moment, the rest of the competitors: Soltour and Mundiplan (the joint venture formed by Iberia, Integración de Agencias de Viajes andAlsa). In lot one, the one on the peninsular coasts and which is the most numerous, with 443,887 vacancies, and which was attended by the Soltour and Guest Incoming alliance, Ávoris obtained 94.24 points out of 100; Soltour, 89.43 points, and Mundiplan, 88.24, according to the public sector recruitment portal.
