Dana Zhusupovna Altaybaeva was born in 1945. Her father is a famous journalist, satirist and translator of works of Russian classics Zhusup Altaybaev.
Graduate of the Alma-Ata Institute of Foreign Languages. She was a recognized expert on French language and culture in the republic, a translator, candidate of philological sciences, professor of the Department of World Languages of the Kazakh State Law University and Astana University. Author of the book “The World of Translation”.
She starred in several feature films. Her debut was in 1963 in the film collection of three stories “In jest and in earnest…” – Altaybaeva appeared in the second story, in “Just Married”, playing Galia.
She played Tanu-apa in the famous Kazakhfilm musical comedy Angel in a Skullcap – this is one of the studio’s most famous projects. Both films were released nationwide.
