According to experts, the launch of Progress MS-24 in a certain orbit, its separation from the third stage of the rocket, the opening of antennas and solar panels was carried out in the normal mode. Docking of the space truck to the Zvezda Service Module of the Russian Segment of the ISS is scheduled for August 25 at 06:50 Moscow time.
Progress MS-24 will put almost 2,500 kg of cargo into orbit. On board there is fuel to refuel the station, drinking water and food, tools, medical supplies and much more.
Cosmonauts Sergei Prokopyev, Dmitry Petelin and Andrey Fedyaev, NASA astronauts Francisco Rubio, Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, UAE astronaut Sultan Al-Neyadi await the ship on the ISS.
Roscosmos noted that this was the 12th launch of a Russian launch vehicle in 2023. For “Soyuz-2.1a” this flight was the 62nd, for ships of the “Progress” family – the 177th in history (88 from them, to the ISS).
