There is a new scandal in the Russian showbiz. Pop artists were accused of singing in hostile countries. The producer was quick to defend the opportunity for singing stars to have similar earnings. While most Russian artists support the SVO, there are some quiet ones among them who are sometimes invited to European concerts. Only a few artists and producers are willing to travel to hostile countries.

THE ESSENCE OF THE SCANDAL WITH STARS SINGING IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES

On September 11, 2024, it became known that social activists asked law enforcement agencies to monitor performances that took place a year ago in Germany. Allegedly, Klava Koka, Bianca and Jonny performed in different German cities, and the organizers of these events support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and transfer money to them. Therefore, law enforcement agencies were asked to check the funding of the artists’ activities from foreign sources and to check whether the artists worked as foreign agents.

The owner of the label where singer Klava Koka works immediately reacted to this news. Producer and co-owner of the music label Pavel Kuryanov (Pasha) recorded a video message: “First: our organizer in Germany is a Russian and has nothing to do with these people, we do not know these people. Secondly, an example of a few euros is given – for this event, a Russian paid into the company’s account in Russian rubles, for which there are all the documents confirming this. Third: why did a foundation suddenly decide that it is now bad for Russian artists to perform for Russian-speaking people abroad? We travel with joy and pride and perform for Russian-speaking people abroad, where they come with Russian flags and promote Russian culture.” The producer promised that they would continue to travel. That is, Klava Koka sang in Germany a year ago. By the way, Koka was planning a concert in Estonia for the spring of 2024, but the host canceled it.

It is clear that the desire to make money from concerts in NATO countries did not find support among people who discussed the scandal on social networks. And now few of our compatriots will go there to sing and will not allow artists with a patriotic position to perform in hostile countries where they offer discounts on renting halls to Russophobic artists.

WHO SINGS ABROAD

Most of the time, our artists go to friendly countries to sing: most of the concerts take place in the United Arab Emirates. This year, “Hands Up!”, Mot, Philip Kirkorov, Sievert, Anna Asti, Alsou will sing in Dubai. Many artists will perform at the festival, which will take place during the November holidays.

Traditionally, at the peak of the touring season (until the end of the year), foreign agents tour the European NATO countries: Maxim Galkin*, Zemfira*, “BI-2”**, Andrey Makarevich*, Morgenstern*. Valery Meladze takes part in the autumn European tour. There are few unexpected heroes on the European stages: Diana Arbenina has been announced with a tour of 6 cities in Germany; Lesha Svik concert in Berlin; Johnny concerts in three German cities. Tickets are actively sold out, as regions where many Russian-speaking people have always lived were chosen for the performances.
