“Should the agreement be returned to, we will certainly continue to do everything necessary to ensure that everyone can export their food freely and safely, including Russia,” the head of the state department said in a comment to TASS.
Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the return to the grain agreement is real if obligations to Russia are fulfilled. “For this, it is simply necessary for European countries to take a number of measures to remove restrictions on disconnection of Rosselkhozbank from SWIFT, etc.,” he explained.
Peskov also spoke about the letter from UN Secretary General António Guterres to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the grain deal. “Mr. Guterres’ letter again described a certain plan of action and the promise that one day it would be possible to fulfill the Russian part of these agreements. Unfortunately, at the moment it is impossible to return to this agreement, because it is not being implemented, de facto it has not been executed. Therefore, it is impossible,” said the presidential press secretary.
