“The bill replacing the state exam with state final certification… in the form of state exams will be considered in the State Duma in the first reading in October,” the MP was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
Recall that in early June, deputies from three factions at once (LDPR, Communist Party of the Russian Federation and SRZP) submitted to the State Duma a bill to abolish the Unified State Exam. They believe that it is necessary to replace it with classical exams, which will be held at the end of training in basic general and secondary general education programs.
If the law is approved, the new rules will come into force on January 1, 2024. In this case, the results of the Unified State Exam obtained before the law comes into force will be considered valid for four years.
Commenting on the initiative, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the Unified State Exam has many disadvantages, but on the other hand, it opens up opportunities for applicants from the periphery.
