Stellantis has confirmed that it will invest 2.5 billion Brazilian reals (477 million euros) in the Porto Real Automotive Complex, in the State of Rio de Janeiro, until 2025 in line with its commitment to boost the automotive industry in this Brazilian region.
This was communicated by the president of Stellantis for South America, Antonio Filosa, to the governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro, in a meeting in which he also presented the new Citroën C3 AirCross, a model that will soon begin production in Port Royal.
According to Filosa, this Porto Real plant is “strategic” for the future of Stellantis, as it has facilities, systems and production equipment that are fully updated with the best global technological references, which prepare it to receive models from the different seas. cas that make up Stellantis and to work on hybrid vehicles.

The Stellantis plant in Porto Real contributes to the expansion of the industry in Rio de Janeiro and is responsible for 1,700 direct jobs. Since the beginning of its operations, it has exported more than 355,000 units of vehicles, mainly to Latin American countries.
