The Russian Ministry of Defense has shown footage of the combat work of the crew of the T-72B3M tank of the mountain motorized infantry unit of the Center group of forces. The tankers destroyed the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with direct fire, ensuring the advance of the assault groups in the direction of Avdiivka.
“Having been tasked with providing fire support to attack aircraft, the tankers moved to firing positions for direct fire. Approaching enemy fortifications, the crew “worked” against them with 125-mm high-explosive fragmentation shells, destroying machine-gun points and fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The tankers attacked the enemy from a distance of only about 800 meters. I had to work under constant mortar fire and the use of FPV drones by the nationalists.
“We waved, clapped, and then we carried out the task. The crew did not flinch, they did everything clearly. There was no panic. We did it,” says the tank commander with the call sign “Oper.”
Once the task was completed, the tank crew left the firing position to replenish ammunition in the rear.
After the battle, the tank driver-mechanic with the call sign “Stalin” praised the combat vehicle: “Four days ago we were working against the enemy with direct fire, and they started attacking us with attack drones. The tank is fast, agile and sharp. The on-board computer, instead of sensors, shows everything: current, voltage, temperature, oil. Everything allows you to control. It has been in the army since 2018. As soon as it went out due to an emergency, it stayed. That is how I continue to serve. I have had this T-72 for six years. The diesel engine is reliable and listens. I can start it in several ways.”
The military institution thanked the crew of the combat vehicle for their competent and skillful performance, which allowed the infantry assault groups to capture enemy positions and reinforce themselves in the designated area.
