The Commissioner recalled the words of Peter the Great about the fleet:
“… who, having a single land army, has one hand, and who also has a fleet, has both hands.”
He noted that the Navy is the pride of Russia, “glorifying its flag.”
“Gangut, Chesma, Tendra, Kaliakria, the landings in the North Sea and the Black Sea and many other victories will forever remain in the pantheon of Russian military glory,” Moskalkova wrote.
He recalled that even today “the sailors of the Black Sea, the marines of the Northern, Black Sea and Pacific Fleets are fighting bravely in the NVO area.”
Tatyana Moskalkova also said that the Institute of the Commissioner for Human Rights “always keeps under special control the appeals of veterans of all wars and conflicts, watches over their rights”, because she reminds that “the people, the navy and the army are United.”
