The bank reactivates the war for savings in interest-bearing accounts without connection

Date: May 23, 2024 Time: 10:03:14

The need to direct payroll to avoid bank commissions has remained in the past, since today it is possible to contract a bank account free of charges without the need to link a monthly income. These innovative products have seen enhancements and upgrades by banks since their latest proposals, in response to the European Central Bank (ECB) rate hike.

Banking entities compete by providing their customers with increasingly attractive offers in the management of their personal finances. A prominent example is Evo Banco, which has extended the remuneration term of its Welcome Smart Account to 2.5% until November 30, 2024, previously restricted to July 31, 2024.

Other entities also maintain the conditions of their accounts. Banca Progetto, Lea Bank and N26 raise interest and improve the amounts to be remunerated, according to Pedro Ruiz, the Personal Finance expert of the comparator Kelisto.es. These initiatives demonstrate the growing competitiveness in the financial sector, giving users greater choice and more attractive benefits to optimize their economic management.

Banks offer up to 0.28% more on their accounts

Unlinked remunerated accounts are an attractive option for those who want to save but do not have a fixed payroll that they can associate. Banca Progetto, Lea Bank, EVO Banco and N26, after an analysis by Kelisto.es, stand out as the most flexible entities, offering improvements in their conditions from the start of the summer season.

It is true that Banca Progetto already offered a leading interest rate in the market for unlinked accounts, with 2.75% in your Savings Account. However, to maintain its position and continue to be the European leader, it has raised the interest rate to 3% TIN.

In second place, Lea Bank has followed in the footsteps of the Italian entity and has noticed the interest rate from 2.48% to 2.76% TIN. On the other hand, others who have made changes to their accounts have chosen to do it differently. EVO Banco, for example, has decided to extend the established conditions for an additional 4 months, while N26, the German neobank, has modified the conditions regarding the maximum amount deposited, now allowing unlimited deposits in their accounts.

EVO Banco extends accounts at 2.50% APR in four months

All Evo Banco customers will be able to enjoy its complete catalog of financial and digital services free of charge and unlimited, including a new offer: Evo’s smart cashback, which will reimburse an average of 8% of the purchases made by users with the evo cards. This innovation will be available after the summer season.

EVO intends to position itself as the main option for those financial users who are looking for high-quality alternatives to traditional banking and who prefer to avoid going to a physical office. Together with this offer, the bank extends one of the most competitive welcome conditions in the financial sector in four months: a remuneration of savings of 2.5% up to 30,000 euros, without commissions of any kind, without link requirements, and with total availability of money and monthly payment of interest.

Top 5 Unlinked Accounts

The reconfiguration of the conditions of each bank has given rise to changes in the classification of the best accounts without linkage. Renault Bank, which previously led the list with a 2.6% NIR, has fallen to third place, surpassed by Banca Progetto and Lea Bank, who have implemented improvements in their offers. Klarna Bank, previously not listed among the top options, is now in fourth place, offering 2.55% TIN. Just below, Bank Norwegian, which was previously in second place, has dropped three notches and is now in fifth place, maintaining its initial rate of 2.5% TIN.

As regards national entities, the Banco Sabadell Online Account continues to stand out, offering a remuneration of 2.5% for a maximum amount of 30,000 euros. Another of the best products of the moment is the remunerated account of MyInvestor, with a 2% APR the first year.
