The director was hospitalized in May for a hemorrhagic stroke. He is in critical condition. They took him out of the house complaining of shortness of breath and chest pains. At first, the teacher was taken to the Odintsovo regional hospital, but the director’s condition was rapidly deteriorating. The People’s Artist was diagnosed with a heart attack and thrombocytosis, and then he also developed pneumonia, which greatly complicates the treatment of Gleb Anatolyevich.
After consultation, the doctors decided to transport him to Moscow, to the Sklifosovsky Institute. Gleb Anatolyevich was placed in intensive care, and then put on a ventilator.
The director had complications after an interruption of the blood supply to the brain. He was paralyzed. The left half of the widower Churikova’s body stopped working and was partially immobilized. Panfilov developed left-sided hemiparesis.

Legendary director Gleb Panfilov somewhat outlived his beloved wife Inna Churikova, who died in the winter of 2023. Panfilov passed away seven months after his wife’s death. They lived on the site for more than half a century.
The People’s Artist has been sick since the fall of 2022. Doctors found cysts in his brain. They also had respiratory problems. As a result, they could not help her, and on January 14, the celebrity died. Churikova was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery next to the director Vladimir Menshov.
This was a heavy blow for Panfilov, who considered his wife his muse. The couple simply could not live without each other, so Churikova’s departure literally brought down the ground from under the feet of the director, who could not adjust to life alone.
“I was happy with her… I was looking for her, found her and became happy. I needed an actress for the role… And I found Inna Churikova. She turned out to be my wife and my beloved person. This is the mother of my son, we have a wonderful boy…” – said Panfilov about his wife.
