The Higher Sports Council (CSD) has formulated “a reasoned request” to the Administrative Court of Sports (TAD) for a possible violation of the Sports Law and the Royal Decree on Sports Discipline by the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, infractions that they consider “very serious” and that make possible a precautionary suspension of the leader.
The CSD considers that articles 76.1.a of the Sports Law and 14.h of Royal Decree 1591/1992 have been violated, which refer, respectively, to abuses of authority and notorious and public acts that violate the sporting dignity or decorum. “Both infractions are considered ‘very serious’, which makes it possible to adopt a measure of provisional and provisional suspension of Luis Rubiales as president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation as a result of his unacceptable behavior during the final of the Women’s World Championship in football”, reported the CSD this Saturday.
“In response to both infractions, considered very serious, the Higher Sports Council has submitted to the Administrative Court of Sport a reasoned petition against the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation,” he added.
The president of the CSD, Víctor Francos, already announced on Friday, after learning that Rubiales would not resign from his position as president of the RFEF, that they would shortly begin the necessary procedures to file “a reasoned complaint before the Administrative Court of Sport”. According to the Council, the procedures have already been carried out.
Rubiales ruled out resigning from his position this Friday, after defending that the kiss he gave to the player Jennifer Hermoso during the celebration of the victory in the World Cup was consented and that the gesture of grabbing his genitals in the box was the product of euphoria and his joy at the success of coach Jorge Vilda.
