The official digital release date for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie has been revealed. The film will hit platforms on September 5. Variety reports it.
The film, which received rave reviews from critics, outdid itself, grossing over a billion dollars at the box office. The film became the highest-grossing film project directed by a female director. In the center of the “Barbie” plot is a doll, which suddenly begins to be overwhelmed by thoughts of mortality and disappointment.
Earlier, top managers of major movie chains in Russia stated that Barbie would be shown in the country only after the digital release, since big Hollywood companies were able to figure out the distribution scheme of theatrical copies.
It was previously reported that Margot Robbie, who starred in the Barbie movie, was earning approximately $50 million in royalties (as an actress) and a percentage of the box office (as a producer). We talk about it in more detail here.
