The digitalization of vehicles is actively developing. For example, last year it was possible to issue a waybill (EPL), without which a bus or taxi cannot take off, in electronic form, and in September 2023 the Taxi FSIS began to operate: the system helps passengers to verify the legality of the carrier and the car. In addition, the digitalization of the Rosavtodor road network is actively being carried out. They are now equipped with intelligent transportation systems (ITS) to improve road safety. According to the analysis of the data, the effect of the introduction of STIs on the roads was a reduction in traffic accidents by 50%.
Rail transport is also successfully going through the digitalization process. Currently, Russian Railways successfully uses two domestic technologies of transport management systems: ACS “Express” and ETRAN. Thanks to the first, passengers can buy tickets, and the second allows the exchange of electronic transport documents during cargo transportation.
Russian Railways also pay attention to the development of unmanned technologies. Thus, already this summer in the capital, the first unmanned “Swallows” will travel along the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), where the driver will only control the operation of the train control system, without participating in the driving process. . “Starting in 2026, the train will move completely without a driver, and only the operator will remotely control two, and in the future four, “Swallows,” the Deputy Minister of Transport shares his plans for the future.
Water transportation is not far behind in unmanned technologies. At the end of last year, for example, on the Ust-Luga-Baltiysk line, the movement of two autonomous sea vessels “General Chernyakhovsky” and “Marshal Rokossovsky” began.
Unmanned road transportation of goods and passengers is developing. KAMAZ cargo drones were launched less than a year ago. Now there are fifteen, but the drone fleet is constantly growing. The pioneers of autonomous passenger transportation were the Yandex company, under whose leadership the first unmanned taxis have already traveled more than 30 million kilometers in Innopolis, Moscow and Sirius.
The creation of the National Digital Transport and Logistics Platform – GosLog – is currently underway, the objective of which is to remove paper documents from the market, replacing them with multimodal electronic transport of all goods. A similar passenger platform is also being created.
