This was stated at the session of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok “Financial sustainability of regions and municipalities” by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for the development of the Far East and the Arctic Valentina Pivnenko.
– Now we are concerned about issues related to non-compliance with the development program of the Kuril Islands. There is such a program, no one has canceled it, federal funds are being promised,” said Valentina Pivnenko.
According to her, the development of the Kuril program is more than 60 percent, although in the case of other programs for the development of the Far East, more than 90 percent.
– I think it is necessary to carry out analytical work to, perhaps, reformat the Kuril program – Valentina Pivnenko summarized, adding that such work is planned to be carried out with the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation next year.
On September 10, the VIII Eastern Economic Forum opened in Vladivostok. The summit will take place on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) under the theme “Towards cooperation, peace and prosperity.” It will last until September 13.
