According to the expert, the substances contained in certain foods (in caffeine, some spices, unhealthy fats and fast carbohydrates) can activate the brain, which will make it difficult to fall asleep.
Elena Gorina suggested which foods, on the contrary, promote sound sleep: turkey, bananas, milk, cherries and kiwi. They contain the amino acid from which the sleep hormone melatonin is synthesized.
The doctor also recommends eating cashews, almonds and pine nuts a few hours before bed. They are rich in magnesium and also help to calm down and fall asleep quickly.
