The European Commission (EC) has given the green light to the formation of a joint venture between the Spanish companies Acciona Concesiones and Cobra, together with the Australian Endeavor Energy.
This union’s objective is the design, construction, financing, operation, maintenance and management of an electricity transmission network infrastructure for the renewable energy area of Central-West Orana, in New South Wales, Australia.
As detailed by the EC in a statement collected by Efe, Acciona Concesiones specializes in the development, construction, operation and maintenance of public-private collaboration projects under the concession model.
For its part, Cobra integrated provides solutions in fields such as energy, industrial engineering, telecommunications, renewable energy and transmission development. Endeavour, meanwhile, operates in the electricity distribution sector in Australia.
The Commission concluded that the proposed transaction would not raise competition concerns as the joint venture has no actual or planned activities in the European Economic Area. The operation is reduced in accordance with the simplified merger review procedure.
