According to the regional investigative committee, on December 4, the body of a 51-year-old local resident with head injuries was found in one of the houses in the village of Maly Kunaley. The investigation department opened a criminal case.
According to the investigation, acquaintances brought the victim home from the winter cabin unconscious and already suffering from injuries. The men explained that she fell out of bed at night. The doctors who came on duty confirmed the death of the villager.
The forensic medical examination did not confirm the version of the fall. Therefore, the main version of the IC now is the intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm.
Local media claim that the head of the Bichursky district of Buryatia, Vasily Smolin, was sent to a pre-trial detention center. This information has not been officially confirmed, but the court report indicates that the suspect’s last name is Smolin. His name and patronymic are not mentioned.
